Privacy Policy

dugudugu ("the Service") lets a friend group run a "who's most likely to" poll before a get-together and reveal the results live during the meetup. This policy explains what information the Service collects, how it's used, and how long it's retained. The Service has no account system or login — participation only requires a link and a name.

• When creating a poll: poll title, question text, member names (nicknames), and the deadline
• When participating: the member name a participant selects, and their answer to each question
• (Optional) a face photo or a preset emoji character — used only for the reveal-mode animation, and stored only after the participant checks a separate consent checkbox at upload time
• Data stored in your browser: a host authorization token (host_token) and a participant session token (session_token), kept in your browser's localStorage. We do not collect real names, email addresses, or phone numbers
• Automatically collected data: device/browser information and IP address may be processed by our hosting provider (Vercel) and our advertising provider (Google AdSense)

• To create, run, and close polls
• To display aggregated "name: vote count" results per question in reveal mode after a poll closes
• To operate the Service, fix bugs, and prevent abuse
• To serve ads (Google AdSense)

We never expose who voted for whom, in any screen or API response. Only aggregated counts per question are ever shown.

Face photos (or emoji avatars) are used solely to animate the winning participant in reveal mode. Uploading a photo is always optional, and it is stored only if the participant checks a separate consent checkbox reading "I consent to my photo being displayed publicly alongside my poll answer."

Uploaded photos are permanently deleted 90 days after the poll they belong to closes (both the stored file data and the database record). This deletion runs automatically as a daily scheduled job.

Poll titles, questions, member names, and votes are retained until a user requests deletion. Face photos follow the 90-day automatic deletion rule described in Section 4.

You can request deletion of your poll-related data (including any uploaded photo) by emailing us at the address below. We will process verified requests within a reasonable time.

The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy as the Service changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated whenever we do.
